Contrary to what people might believe, Newhaven is still a thriving charter fishing port.  The re development of the Newhaven Marina area has not really affected any angler facilities.

Aboard the Carrick Lee you can expect to see many different species of fish (depending on the season) including Bream, Bass, Mackeral, Gurnard, Turbot and Brill etc.

The Cod and Pollack fishing last year was particularly improved by the decreased quotas and restrictions put on the commercial netting fleet, our best day was a total of 104 Cod up to 24lbs, the large part of which were returned for another day, Congers too are on the increase with the lack of commercial effort.
