Contrary to what people might believe, Newhaven is still a thriving charter fishing port.  The re development of the Newhaven Marina area has not really affected any angler facilities, except the temporary absence of a Cafe.  The best place in town is Fanny Lulu's, beside the newhaven river bridge (please download map from this site), and I can meet you there in the morning if required.

The Cod and Pollack fishing last year was particularly improved by the decreased quotas and restrictions put on the commercial netting fleet, our best day was a total of 104 Cod up to 24lbs, the large part of which were returned for another day, Congers too are on the increase with the lack of commercial effort.
