Although most of my customers are still serious angling clubs, I have over the years gained a lot of experience working with corporate clients, tourist parties and above all stag and hen parties.
In my opinion the Carrick Lee is the perfect vessel for these trips because:
1. She has all mod cons including an on board toilet, you don’t have to find your way below decks to the loo.
2. She is square and very stable, so if you’re prone to sea sickness, you feel a little steadier.
3. The Carrick Lee is sponsored by top tackle supplier Tronix UK. We have excellent rod and reel hire, and a comprehensive on board tackle shop (the only Newhaven boat to offer this service).
4. We have a permanent crew in young Guy Thomas. He will tackle your rods, bait your hooks if required and make the tea!!
5. She is fully licensed and insured for up to 12 passengers.
Our location at Newhaven is just 9 miles from Brighton marina along the main (A259) coast road, close enough for youngsters to hit the bright lights, but far enough away, so old bucks like me might enjoy a meal or beach barbecue instead.
The only downside is that you will probably find that many of the premier south coast boats will be booked for several months in advance at weekends. That’s why I have developed a special stag and hen package for 2009.
We offer a 5 hour trip (can be shortened on request) that leaves Newhaven marina at 4.30pm and returns at 9.30pm. This suits people who intend to go clubbing in Brighton, or don’t have great sea legs, or don’t rate fishing that highly, and might get a bit bored.
The trips cater for parties of up to 12, with all rods, tackle and bait provided at of cost of £50 each (minimum of 8 people).
